if I were a song, I would want to be...

"Musicbox" by Regina Spektor.

But I don't know if I'm quirky enough.  I think I need to develop a few more eccentricities to qualify for that song.

Maybe if I were a song I could be "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osborne.  Mostly just for the title's sake and the line, "I'm going off the rails of the crazy train."

If Husband wanted to describe me by song he would probably pick, "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" by Cake when really I'm more like, "Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen.  (But don't listen too closely to those lyrics....man were those guys screwed up.)

But that's ok, because if I were to describe Husband with a song it would have to be "White and Nerdy" by Weird Al Yankovic.

And if my blog were a song, it would be "Basket Case" by Green Day.  'Cause you know it starts out: "Do you have the time, to listen to me whine...."

Hey look, a conveniently located playlist with all the songs I mentioned (except not in the right order - we wouldn't want things to be TOO convenient.)  And I even added one of my all time favorite songs to it, "The Hall of the Mountain King" by Apocalyptica.  (I hadn't heard it for a really long time, and then I found and added it to my personal playlist .  When I turned up my speakers and heard it again after so long it brought tears to my eyes.  I'm not joking.  I think I might be sort of emotionally odd.  maybe?)

I can't get the music to play, but that's okay because I already can't get "Basketcase" out of my mind. I can't believe I've never thought of a song for my life. Time to start thinking!

I don't think I could pick a song that describes me. I'd want to pick songs I just really like---that probly have nothing to do with me:)

I love Cake!
I don't know songs well enough, or can never remember the names of songs I like to do something like this :)
Love "Basket Case" every time it comes on (on Pandora which I have playing in the kitchen at all times) I turn it WAY up and dance around ignoring my children. They may not be as big of fans of the song as I am.

dream home

I don't really want a 'dream home'. I don't want to settle down in one house to raise my kids and then grandkids and then great-grandkids. I don't want to be trapped within the confines of the same exact walls from this moment until the day I die. The whole idea sounds like torture. Sometimes my house feels like a prison. (Although, I think it may have something to do with the little wardens that keep me from leaving at my leisure.) And once I've lived in one place long enough I just get really really bored. We've been married for 8 years and moved 7 times. I always hate the moving part, but I do like being somewhere new. And the house we're in right now is actually perfect for us. Just the size we need, great neighbors, close to the school, blah blah blah. The only thing is that we're renting and I can't paint the walls. I like painting walls. But for the most part, I really like living here. Granted, we've only lived here for seve...

hair loss and mourning

I like Monkey's hair long.  I tried to grow out Opie's hair when he was younger, but he has always had a tremendously large head, and he also has very thick wavy hair.  You pair those two together, throw in some long locks, and you've got yourself a genuinely bonified giant-head child.  So I've learned my lesson: keep Opie's hair short. But Monkey's hair?  It's so soft, and straight (our only straight-haired child) and super super cute when it's long.  SUPER CUTE.  (Agree with me - it's my blog.)  But not many people liked the whole long hair thing.  I kept having to threaten various family members with things like, "If I come back to find him with short hair I will DISOWN you, run away with my kids and you will never hear from us again.  EVER."  (Husband was particularly sensitive to this threat.) However, I did say that once random strangers started referring to him as a girl, I would consider cutting it.  And even though ...
