happy 200 posts to me

Blogger is saying that I've written 200 posts. This will actually throw me over to 201.

I should throw a party. Everyone is invited.

There will be a $50 entrance fee. But don't worry, it will be fun - we'll eat m&m's and read old blog posts of mine. I might even allow people to take bathroom breaks. I know, it sounds thrilling.

I have a special announcement to everyone I promised free blog designs (which was like months ago....yeah, I know.) I will send your free designs soon. I PROMISE.

I meant to get some work done last week while I was away from all my clinging children. But instead I just kept looking at my sister's baby saying things like, "Aaaaaaaaw, she's SO CUTE," while I didn't clean her house for her. I don't think I was much help.

But I did take a lot of these:

And that counts for something, right?  (You can see a few more pictures here  we took a billion, but they're not all online - you'd be scrolling forever.)

So since this is my 201st post and I should say something really exciting.......um......did I ever tell you about the time that I won the lottery?

It was supposed to be a gag 'look at how bad I am, I just bought a lottery ticket' kind of joke.  Except then it ended up being a winning ticket.  It was worth $1,876, 500.15    But then I felt so guilty about winning gambling money that I donated the whole thing to charity.

Ok, well, not really.  I've never bought a lottery ticket.  But if I ever did, and it ended up winning money.....yeah, I'm pretty sure I'd keep it.

But I am trying to help out a charity.  It's not going so well.  You can check it out though, since I'm sure I totally won you over with my fake lottery ticket story.

And there you have it - 200 posts (fine, 201.)  I'm so proud to have bored people with my blog for so long.

Congratulations! And that picture is extremely cute. I'm clicking over to see more after this.

And also, congratulations on not having bought a lottery ticket. How do you resist? (In Poland people love to waste all the money they don't have on the lotter. I am not one of them.)

Congrats on 201! And on the very cute niece. And on the very cute pictures of the very cute niece.
Congrats 200 (or 201) is a big milestone. I wonder if I'll ever get there. (I'm thinking not since I'd actually have to blog to get there.)

dream home

I don't really want a 'dream home'. I don't want to settle down in one house to raise my kids and then grandkids and then great-grandkids. I don't want to be trapped within the confines of the same exact walls from this moment until the day I die. The whole idea sounds like torture. Sometimes my house feels like a prison. (Although, I think it may have something to do with the little wardens that keep me from leaving at my leisure.) And once I've lived in one place long enough I just get really really bored. We've been married for 8 years and moved 7 times. I always hate the moving part, but I do like being somewhere new. And the house we're in right now is actually perfect for us. Just the size we need, great neighbors, close to the school, blah blah blah. The only thing is that we're renting and I can't paint the walls. I like painting walls. But for the most part, I really like living here. Granted, we've only lived here for seve...

hair loss and mourning

I like Monkey's hair long.  I tried to grow out Opie's hair when he was younger, but he has always had a tremendously large head, and he also has very thick wavy hair.  You pair those two together, throw in some long locks, and you've got yourself a genuinely bonified giant-head child.  So I've learned my lesson: keep Opie's hair short. But Monkey's hair?  It's so soft, and straight (our only straight-haired child) and super super cute when it's long.  SUPER CUTE.  (Agree with me - it's my blog.)  But not many people liked the whole long hair thing.  I kept having to threaten various family members with things like, "If I come back to find him with short hair I will DISOWN you, run away with my kids and you will never hear from us again.  EVER."  (Husband was particularly sensitive to this threat.) However, I did say that once random strangers started referring to him as a girl, I would consider cutting it.  And even though ...
